NEWS: lost in media art

lost in space's christian hogue presented talks and workshops at the thailand new media art festival 2004 (maf04) during march.

lost in space was a major sponsor of the festival in its first year in bangkok. the festival in its second year has moved from chiang mai where lost in space screened a short film "into the beyond" last year.

the aim of the festival was to raise the awareness of media art in asia by bringing western and asian media artists together in a series of exhibitions, talks and workshops during the week of the festival. the festival was spread over several venues in bangkok, the alliance francaise, goethe institute, British council and Srinakharinwirot University's fine art faculty gallery. and out door screenings occurred on the famous siam square media shaker screen and at banrie cafe.

christian presented a retrospective of lost in spaces experimental short films and several workshops on digital visual effects. oway of oceanwarmair a recent lost in space netwrok memebr also joined the festival from her native hong kong.

the reptrospective covered 8 years of lost in space's experimental short films from directors such as alex rutterford, christian hogue, rob rae, zeitguised, oceanwarmair and a piece from d-fuse. the retrospective was screened on the media shaker screen during the festival and also presented with a talk by christian at the british council.

lost in space's founder christian hogue VJ 'd during the wrap party at bed supperclub one of bangkok's top designer nightspots and also at the oddyssee gallery with thai VJ's and designers.
